Making STEM Presentations

Ray Deiotte, ISSAC Director of Engineering & Innovation, was a guest earlier this week at Palmer High School (Colorado Springs, CO, District 11) for the school’s “STEM Lunch & Learn” program. Ray provided the students with an overview on the history of computing and future trends in computing – complete with a collection of unique visual aids. Students learned about early developments related to today’s computers, including such mathematical calculation tools as the abacus and the slide rule. ISSAC is a special partner to Palmer High School, focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and educating students for the data science and engineering jobs of the future. If your company would like to become involved with Palmer High’s STEM programs, contact Sean Wybrant, the school’s Educator/Digital Media Studies at SEAN.WYBRANT@d11.org .
